Although I experiment with many mediums, clay is where I feel most at home. My creatures come to life as I shape and model the material; sometimes exactly as I imagine, other times as if they decide for themselves how they want to appear. Either way, I enjoy creating work that carries a sense of play, vulnerability, and incongruity.

Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better

I believe sculpture is meant to be touched. While I love watching viewers resist the urge to pet my creatures, I also believe that physical contact with an artwork can be an important kinaesthetic experience. Much of my work reflects the same tactility I experience while making it.
